In June, Governor Kathy Hochul announced a landmark energy project: New York’s first new nuclear power plant in a generation. The Governor has directed the New York Power Authority (NYPA) to develop and deliver a zero-emission, advanced nuclear energy project—specifically a 1GW project.
We are confident in our ability to deliver. New York’s first new advanced nuclear power facility requires leadership with experience developing large energy generation and transmission projects, expertise in navigating New York State’s regulatory and permitting processes, and the imperative to work with communities and put benefits to New Yorkers front and center.
Leaders across the state representing labor unions, advocacy groups, and local communities all agree: our state needs to add reliable, baseload, nuclear generation. Read more:
